Malvern Manor – Malvern, Iowa

Astral Plane Paranormal recently spent the night at Malvern Manor located in Malvern IA. After hearing some recordings from the folks who gave us a quick tour of the place we were pretty excited to be spending the night and conducting our investigation. While the place does have a history – including abuse and deaths – (some question as to whether it was murder or suicide) I can honestly report that the night was a total bust.

Jeff took a photo of our friends, Nick & Sue, as they sat on the stairs. There’s a streak in the photo but we can confirm it is NOT an apparition or anything paranormal. It looks like the streak of a fingerprint or thumbprint. I think someone accidentally touched the phone’s camera lens.

It was quiet all night. We did hear a sound like a pebble or piece of plastic hitting the floor in one room as we walked by it but that could have been a chip from the ceiling tiles that were coming down. I can’t say it was anything that cannot be explained. We were told about a chair in one of the upstairs bedrooms that supposedly makes devices go crazy. We put this tale to the test by placing one of our K-2 devices on the chair. Sure enough, it peaked at the highest reading.

However, we were able to debunk this by moving the chair just a couple of inches in any direction, which resulted in the device not registering a magnetic field at all. This is easily explained by the electricity running through the floorboards to power the lights and outlets in the room below.

Also, there’s far too much in the way of contamination to determine if any EVPs are actual EVPs or voices from outside for the building is located in the center of town. There are a few bars and cafes in the area, one of the cafes is just about 30 steps away. We heard people outside well into the wee hours of the morning; it didn’t get quiet outside until around 2:00 A.M.

While we can report the night was quiet, we would like to return to Malvern Manor once again to give it another try.
