Villisca Axe Murder House – Villisca, IA

Astral Plane Paranormal paid the Villisca Axe Murder house a visit after seeing it featured on one of the popular ghost-hunting shows on TV and since it was a few hours away we figured why not?

There are investigators out there who insist that Evil lurks inside the Villisca axe murder house. That is extremely doubtful. Anyone who wants to know the history of the Villisca axe murders can look it up on the net. The story in short: A family had been out for the evening. When everyone returned home they all got ready for bed and went to sleep. The kids had their neighbor friends sleeping over. At some point in the night, someone entered the home and killed everyone inside with an axe. No one was ever caught for the crime. A local claimed to be the killer but no one believed him (can’t recall off the top of my head if he was the local drunk or just not right in the head). The killer did not stick around and did not take his or her own life in the house either. This case is one of Iowa’s unsolved cold cases.

Mindy, an empath, did not feel or sense anything malevolent in the house. The only thing she did feel, and so did Jeff, was an overwhelming sense of sadness. We did not experience anything hear anything or see anything other than a preserved home from way back when. The only thing we have is a photo that does show a blur in an area that wasn’t there in the previous or next frame shot and we can’t explain why this one area blurred. We’d like to have a photo pro look at it and see if he or she has an explanation.

Currently (as of the original posting of this article), an overnight investigation will cost a team $428 a night which is one reason this husband and wife duo will not return. But the main reason we will not return to Villisca is this: The spirits are really pissed off that their tragedy is being used to make money for the current owners. They are pissed with strangers invading their home, gawking at this family’s misfortune, and treating their spirits like they are side-show circus freaks. Villisca is a tomb and the spirits deserve to finally find some peace.
