Beware of Scammers!
In the last week, it has come to light that the group/company “Really Haunted” has taken money from customers for sponsored events at paranormal locations and subsequently canceled those events and kept the money (I have not heard if they have issued any refunds as they should). Nevertheless, this brings up a very good point of warning for those who want to test the waters of checking out a “haunted” location. For many, seeing a company like this offering an opportunity to “do an investigation” seems like a great deal. After all, most of the time a person can gain access to one of these locations for $50-100. That sounds…

A Visit from Grandpa
I originally began writing this post on October 24, 2017. It’s been difficult to write about because it’s a very personal experience, so I will apologize up front as this post may seem a bit choppy. I’m not sure how much I should or want to share. Please note that real names have been changed to protect our relatives’ identities and privacy. When my husband and I were dating and getting pretty serious, his maternal grandparents came to visit. They wanted to visit with their grandson but part of the reason for their visit, too, was to “check me out”. I’m not sure why, but I was incredibly nervous to meet…

Premonition or Precognition?
Have you ever had a recurring dream that you may not have been able to make sense of until many months, or even years, later? Or have you ever had a strong feeling, a deep intuition, telling you that you should or should not do something? And have you ever ignored that feeling only to regret it later? Intuition is a sixth sense that everyone is born with. Some are more sensitive or in tune with it than others concerning their sixth sense. Whether you refer to it as intuition, sixth sense, or another term, there are times when you should pay attention to it. Intuition shouldn’t be confused with premonition…

Out of Body Experience
Between me and my husband, I’m the one who has had strange experiences throughout my life. I do vaguely recall having brief discussions with my maternal grandfather after he passed away when I was 6 years old. Of course, at that age, I didn’t understand what death was. I didn’t understand that I’d never see my grandpa again, wouldn’t get to spend the summers with him at the cottage in Janesville, Wisconsin, or the house on Fawell Street in Chicago, Illinois. I would never again go to Fannie Mae with him, or snuggle up on his lap in his Lazy-Boy recliner dozing off to a Chicago White Sox game on…

1889 McInteer Villa – Atchison, KS
The 1889 McInteer Villa is owned by Stephanie Neal and is located in Atchison, Kansas. Constructed 1889-1890 by John McInteer, this mansion sits on top of a hill and is surrounded by trees. There is an antique carriage on the front lawn hitched to a skeleton of a horse. This isn’t decoration for Halloween. The display represents the occupation of the original owner, John McInteer, an Irish immigrant, who made his fortune making saddles and harnesses. It is said that his work was good. Long ago, Atchison was one of the locations being considered for the capital city of Kansas. In the end, Kansas City won that honor. Atchison was…
